The Maker

Roxanne.
UK-based
Malaysian potter.

A little peek into my background: I actually studied psychology, not ceramics. Pottery wasn't ever the plan, I just kind of fell into it one day and then got way too attached to it. That stubbornness turned into two years of me being deep in porcelain, figuring out how it behaves, its low plasticity, its narrow firing range, how unforgiving it is compared to other clay bodies, and how translucent it can go when thrown thin enough. And somewhere along the way I started really caring about the property of the clay and creating it's own glaze to highlight it better.

These days I mostly make tableware and vases, and I mix my own glazes too. I post about all of it, the process, the fails, the finished pieces, on my socials and blog, so come say hi if you want more of that.
